MW Floats are manufacturers of original hand made commercial fishery pole floats, which have been designed to perform rather than simply look pretty.
We developed most of today's popular patterns that anglers across the country are using day in, day out - which have been copied by large commercial companies, but never to the same standards of finish or strength.
We now only use our own "HardCore" and "ProCore" materials to manufacture IN-HOUSE all of our float bodies over traditional balsa as the advantages are far greater with out costing more. None of our float bodies are bought in pre-formed and each one is turned by Mick Wilkinson personally.
The advantages of "HardCore" over balsa are numerous, but the main benefits are that the material density is identical in each body so every float takes the same amount of shot, the bodies can be made smaller than with balsa giving a smaller float which is much tougher and stronger than balsa. "HardCore" also does not take on water should accidents happen (although it is extremely rare that the material would get damaged in normal use).
"ProCore" is 20% more buoyant than the softest balsa, yet still tougher than the toughest balsa. This allows certain patterns to be made even slimmer which aids clean strikes through the water as well as more positive bite indication.
MW Floats are used by most of the top UK match anglers including World Champions, England Internationals and many Festival winners including Steve Ringer.
We will guarantee that once you have used "HardCore" or "ProCore", you will not revert back to balsa patterns.
